This is a fully accredited five doctor family practice providing the full scope of rural medical care. Doctors in the practice have interests in family and women’s health, men’s health, preventative medicine, emergency medicine and minor surgery including flaps and grafts.
The practice includes five part-time nursing staff, who are actively involved in health promotion, immunisation, recall systems, wound care, assistance with procedures and EPC consultations. There is a women’s health nurse and diabetes educator.
The practice is fully computerised including recall systems for diabetes, asthma, skin checks and pap smears. Lakes Entrance does not have a hospital, and consequently the practice is fully-equipped to deal with emergency presentations. A specialist radiologist is also available to the town. Allied health staff consult from the practice on a part-time basis.
The Centre is accredited for Registrar, medical student and PGPPP (PGY2) training.
